Ravda is a small, quiet Bulgarian seaside resort with a nice beach just a few kilometers south of Nesebar.

Ravda, once known for its student camps, has two beaches that are divided by a small, rocky cape. You can enjoy awesome sea views from the edge of the cape, it is fully accessible. The northern beach is longer but less popular and also less scenic.

On the other side of the cape begins the attractive southern beach with small piers. It provides beach buffets and various entertainment such as windsurfing, jet skiing, diving and yachting. However, it is quite a small strip of sand so it can become overcrowded in the peak season. There is a nice, recently built park on the seaside with panoramic views, descending towards the beach. Apart from the two main beaches, more private, rocky bays can also be found along the coast in Ravda.

Ravda is recommended to those looking for a more relaxed holiday and to families with small children. The huge benefit of this Black Sea resort is that you can enjoy being in a quiet and less crowded place while still staying close to attractions like Nesebar or the buzzing nightlife of Sunny Beach. Of course, Ravda has many hotels, restaurants and a growing number of bars, but not in an annoying number.

What to do in Ravda

If you’re on holiday in Ravda, don’t miss the old town of Nesebar, located on a peninsula right next to the resort. It is one of Bulgaria’s top tourist attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site with beautifully restored historic buildings, cozy alleys, ancient ruins and medieval churches. Ravda is well-connected to Nesebar, local buses will get you there in minutes. Boat trips and private water transfer services are also available.

Aquapark Nesebar, one of the largest water park in Bulgaria, is located only 2 km from the center of Ravda. The park claims to have the largest variety of water attractions in Europe – including 38 water slides totalling 2527 meters of slide length.

Location

Ravda (BG: Равда) is located between Nesebar to the north and Aheloy to the south, next to road 9 (international E87). Nowadays, these three resorts (and Sunny Beach as well) are adjoining and have good public transport connections.

Burgas, the second largest seaside city in Bulgaria is 33 km away from Ravda. Burgas Airport is even closer, only 22 km to the southwest. The taxi fare from the airport to Ravda is around 25 EUR.
